متن کاملLearning Shape Descriptions
We report on initial experiments with an implemented learning system whose inputs are images of two-dimensional shapes. The system first builds semantic network shape descriptions based on Brady's smoothed local symmetry representation. It learns shape models from them using a modified version of Winston's ANALOGY program. The learning program uses only positive examples, and is capable of lear...
متن کاملParts: Structured Descriptions of Shape
A shape representation is presented that has been shown competent to accurately describe an extensive variety of natural forms (e g., people, mountains, clouds, trees), as well as man-made forms, in a succinct and natural manner. The ap preach taken in this representational system is to describe scene structure at a scale that is similar to our naive perceptual notion of “a part,’ by use of des...
متن کاملDot Product Rearrangements
Let a (a), x (x) denote nonnegative sequences; x (x denotes n n (n) the rearranged sequence determined by the permutation n, a" x denotes the dot product Z a x and S(a,x) denotes {a x is a permuation of the positive integers}. We n n examine S(a,x) as a subset of the nonnegative real line in certain special circumstances. The main result is that if a +, then S(a,x) [a" x,] for every x , 0 n n i...
متن کاملDot Product Representations of Graphs
We introduce the concept of dot product representations of graphs, giving some motivations as well as surveying the previously known results. We extend these representations to more general fields, looking at the complex numbers, rational numbers, and finite fields. Finally, we study the behavior of dot product representations in field extensions.
